"Modern Classics Auto Service & Performance, LLC", (otherwise known as "Modern Classics") Has been owned and operated by Steve & Teri Heino since 1999. Before that, it was known for nearly 20 years as McGee's Auto, which gained a status for honesty and quality. Steve and Teri have continued to maintain those same values and reputation throughout their ownership.

At Modern Classics Auto Service & Performance, we are a full service auto repair and upgrade/tuning performance shop. We specialize in domestic automobiles, but also work on Asian import vehicles. Our emphasis is on GM vehicles (both new and old). We offer many services including tuning of both carburetors and fuel injection systems with our in-house Dynojet chassis dyno. We perform DEQ emissions testing, routine maintenance, some restoration work (mostly GM, but will perform others, contact us for specifics), performance upgrades, consultation services, along with comfort and performance upgrades such as fuel injection, cruise control, tilt steering columns, rack and pinion steering, air conditioning, disc brakes, overdrive transmissions, etc.

We strive to make our customers. vehicles as reliable, safe and fun as possible. Our goal is to have our customers WANT to drive their vehicles, whether it's a new car, one with some miles on the clock, a street rod or a muscle car. By maintaining and modifying those cars and trucks with pride and care, we have been able to do so.

Most of our advertising is by word of mouth. We look forward to both continuing business with our existing customers, and beginning great relationships that will last a lifetime with new ones.

At some point in the future, it is our goal to construct a new and much larger facility that will allow us to add even more services and have more parts on hand. It will have a showroom to showcase some of the products/services we offer.

The business was originally opened in 1980 by Steve McGee as "McGee's Auto Electric, LLC", and was later renamed "McGee's Auto Service, LLC".

Steve Heino began employment under Steve McGee in 1996, and purchased the business from Mr. McGee in 1999. Since then, we have changed the name to "Modern Classics Auto Service & Performance, LLC" or "Modern Classics" to make it easy to remember.

For 11 years prior to becoming a small business owner, Steve Heino developed his skills working at independent repair facilities and two Chevrolet dealerships.

We love meeting and talking/hanging out with other "car people", either locally or across North America. We have met some of our very best friends because of a similar passion for cars.

We don't pretend to know everything, but what we don't know, we can find a source! At "Modern Classics", we believe the customer should be taken care of like we would like to be taken care of: with honesty and integrity, and their vehicle should be taken care of in a like fashion. We strive to be straight forward with our customers, giving clear, honest and concise information they can use to make an intelligent decision. You can trust our judgment and our honesty. We believe we should inform the customer what repairs MUST be done for safety and reliability, which ones can wait awhile and be performed in the future if funds are tight, and can offer a second opinion on an estimate from another shop. We will not "try to sell you everything" like many other shops. Instead, we will advise you so that you may make an educated decision about the servicing of your vehicle.
